Our hiatus-taking videogames columnist D. R. Adams just sent over a brand new theme song for us, to update our previous. This is pretty much the only thing getting us through this sleep-deprived day.
Um, be careful with your volume levels on your computers here, fellow headbangers.

Not quite Taylor Swift, is it?
D.R. ADAMS! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! Hopefully out curating your Greatest Hits album. There are so MANY hits to choose from: Summer of '69, Cuts Like a Knife, It's Only Love, All For Love, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, Straight From The Heart... The list goes on and on! It must be great to be a rock star and from Canada!
Also, Awl folks, what's with the Phentermine keyword stuffing at the bottom here, eh?
Phentermine nonsense gone, thankfully. Also, thankfully, D.R. Adams is here to stay! YAY! Hey D.R., what was it like to sing in front of thousands with Tina Turner in '85?
That joke is so old...
When did Axl Rose start fronting Spinal Tap?
It's a pretty nice theme song.
RRRRRRRRR-AAAAAAAAWWWWWWWLLLLLLL
So. Fucking. Awesome.
It's OK. I mean, he's no Rhett Miller, but it's OK.
wait...this is RYAN Adams and not *BRYAN* Adams? Wasn't he in that band that Janeane Garofalo loved so much from Texas? They sang "Timebomb?" Had a real effeminate lead singer? Ole' 99s or something?
Disagree. Once saw them both play a showcase in Dallas around SXSW. Rhett definitely had more energy and may have had all the girls cooing over him, but Ryan had all us real boys at full attention (and definitely turned me from 6 to midnight, if ya know what I'm saying....)
His old band was called Whiskeytown and they were from Raleigh, NC. Do some research before making yourself look like an a$$... and it was the Old 97's and not Ole 99's. You make it sound like, oh-lay 99's by what you typed. I hope you are completely joking by all these asinine posts...
Look, everyone there knows who won the slap-fight. Rhett by a manicured nail.
Rhett Miller wishes....I wouldn't even touch Rhett Miller with your thingy but I would walk 500 hundred miles to get what's behind the humbuckers on Ryan Adams' Gibson.
Better Hair??? Rhett Miller by a blowdried landslide. ell oh ell.
Hey Ryno quick question. Is there any chance you gettin wit a punky-type band again? My friend Toby says u used to be in a kewl hard band but then you kinda went folk emo-acoustic. Also which guitar do you recommend? I was thinking about getting a fender or geffen or somthin. Also can u reccomend any other hardcore screamo stuff like AFI, Sum41, Hoobostank stuff like that?
lata....
so when is ol' ryno gonna jump in here like he did on BrooklynVegan (and this is a direct quote from him): "If you dont like what I do DO SOMETHING YOURSELF YOU FUCKING POSERS
you wish you had the balls to put yourself out there but no you live in a fucking comment column- average joe my ass
if you dont like it THEN GET BUSY making your own art and your own charity
until then,
while i am at work for charity and for MY WORLD OF ART'
you can suck it
losers
fuck you"
You fuckers must have a far more elaborate blog-software system than I've ever seen, if it comes with customizable R. Adams metal songs.
SPEAKING OF, I had a sad last week while driving to the supermarket, because the Sirius radio station I was listening to (the Loft?) played two D.R. Adams songs in a row, so I figured he had tragically died. But later, when I was home, I looked on the Internet and it didn't appear to be true. It was just Twofer Tuesday!
So we wait all this time for this? Hmm..love the column but maybe a step back from music was a good idea.
FFS. Live & let live.
My opinion - I'm entitled to it. You don't have to like it.
Of course you are. I'm sorry if that was misinterpreted. I wasn't trying to imply otherwise. We're all entitled to our own respective opinions and free to voice them. My opinion is that a sizable portion of DRA's fanbase is harsh, judgmental and unable to let the man be happy, at peace and make silly music if he wants to. But that's just my opinion.
Lyric sheet, s'il vous play?
AOL, really? Man. I'm sure it's just a play on words and there was certainly a time when that would be all cutesy-pootesy and I'd enjoy the irony. But, aside from my own personal hurt feelings, they also just got rid of Bill Wilson AND Peter Rivera, the lifeblood behind "MediaGlow." The company is becoming synonymous with a Google-owned startup. Which, hey, why not - we all love Google. But... Oh well. I digress.
The political nature of these lyrics is not what this great country of ours needs right now.
All those who would bang their heads to this are traitors.
We are starving for content, Mr. Adams. Starving.
Ryan my man, miss seeing you around in the cyberworld and your music. Saw the Card's last year at the Fox Theater in ATL which was to be your all's last show. Best show I have seen in my life. After reading your foreword in Neal's new book, doesn't look like you'll be going on the road anytime soon. Not what your fans want to hear but you do what you have to do. Just know we miss you and your music... still listen to The Suicide Handbook everyday, your best work
wish he'd go back to the hits "cuts like a knife" and "thought i'd died and gone to heaven"....waking up the neighbors and reckless are american classics.
Never heard that one before.
