We actually didn't cover this story earlier, because it was the feel-bad feel-good story of the year, and it was too much for my delicate sensibilities-oh wait, we did!-but now here we are. Good news! A blind dog and his seeing eye dog best friend have found a new home to take them in! (The bad news still is: they were up for adoption because their owner has cancer and is moving and giving up her dogs to be near family.)

Oh jesus (wipes eyes). Now I need waffles.
Hooray! Good rehoming stories always make me so happy!
Congratulations, new owner of painfully adorable dog friends!
Get well soon, former owner!
I feel this story has gotten considerably less awful. While old owner still has cancer, which, you know, at least she now has peace of mind about her pups, and doesn't have to stress out about whether or not they've found a good home and gotten to stay together. That counts for something!
People do move (even across the country) and bring their pets, and many people undergoing treatment for serious illness take comfort in keeping their pets. But, hey, I'm sure you're right; she and her family are relieved the dogs they "couldn't" keep have a place to go.
I'm not trying to judge her decision, because I haven't the slightest idea what she's going through! I'm just happy the dogs are happy!
Wait, what is sad? The their owner has cancer or because they need adoption?
Throw both of the dogs in the river. Problem solved.
i've been looking for a dog sitter. i'll mark you off my list.
I am just going to take this opportunity to tell all of you, my friends: DO NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER watch the PBS special on Hurricane Katrina Pets. Consider yourselves WARNED.
I'm already a quivering puddle thanks to this story. If I see doe-eyed pups crouching on rooftops I will have to be committed.
