Jeb Bush: Hiding in Plain Sight

BUSH 2 AND 3Oh, I know, you're all laughing at my crazy ramblings: "That crazy guy thinks Jeb Bush will run for President!" Well LOL all you want, LOlers. Because we've got a fresh convert to the team in the form of Joshua Green, Atlantic-man: "But another potent political force–one who raised no money and has no PAC–could still win the nomination were he inclined to pursue it: Jeb Bush is the candidate hiding in plain sight. The brother and son of presidents stepped back from elected politics after his second term as Florida governor ended three year ago. At 57, he's in his prime."

Aren't we still Bushed, fatigued.

I've said the same. Believe it or not, the guy still has cred down here in Florida.

If there are any sensible Republicans still out there who want to see Sarah kept away from the candidate's role, they'll be drafting this guy fast. He's actually got a shot, despite the tarnished family name – at least a much better shot than Mrs. Palin has.

Are we LOLing or nervously hahaing while paralyzed by the fear that either Jeb or Sarah could possibly be in the oval office?

Some of us aren't really in a financial position to pick up and leave the country ya know?

If Jeb wins and serves his term there will have been at a Bush or a Clinton in the White House for 24 of 28 years.

Makes sense: GW was hiding in plain sight for 8 years.

Please, let's just stop talking about it. If we talk about it, we'll contribute to the groundswell of talking-about-it. If we stop talking about it,it might go away. Sssh, quiet, don't look them in the eyes.

garge (#736)

Be very afraid, guys. This tactic is how I won capture the flag once while in MY prime.

They're like the Kennedys, except without penises.

But by 58, he'll be dead.

Then again, the White House could really use a first-class jewel thief.

I'm on the fence about this one.

No, Jeb's role in this next cycle will be to let the crazies take over, thereby ensuring the Republican candidate does not win, and then run in 2016 free of the burden of those losers and for a statistically more friendly open seat (cf. Nixon – Goldwater – Nixon).

NicFit (#616)

Yeah, and Giuliani is said to be formidable as well! LOL.
