There's No Place Like America Today

If you haven't seen this yet I'm just going to recommend that you dive in without any explanation. There's some background information here, but it seems almost superfluous, all things considered.

Because he's the hero Fresno deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. Our Dark Knight.

@mcleodglen: You've never been to a Phish show, have you?

I swear I have ordered huevos rancheros from this guy at a cafe in Huntington Beach.

Hippies with hatchets > jocks with Glocks (even in West Virginia). Go America!

Like there could be an explanation? I'll be wondering about it forever.

am I the only one who is bummed about Kai stating at the end of the interview that as far as anyone who grew up with him is concerned he is already dead?

barnhouse (#1,326)

@jbsquare No.

gregorg (#30)

@jbsquare watch it again, and the affirmation prologue is just as bummin'.

Most places around the internet where this is being posted, including Craig Bierko's facebook, I see all sorts of commentary making fun of this kid when he actually seems like a really good person. I guess I'm not sophisticated enough to understand.

On the one hand he seems like a nice kid, but on the other he seems pretty together for a dude who just killed another dude with an ax.

He didn't kill the dude – he was charged with attempted murder.
How he didn't kill him with a hatchet – is another part of the myth of Kai.

The KMPH story involves more than your usual amount of news anchors obliviously drinking orange juice: http://www.kmph.com/category/170789/video-landing-page?clipId=8323350&topVideoCatNo=102655&autoStart=true

Hippie-Kai-ay took an axe,
Gave lunatic Jesus three big whacks.
When he saw what he done did,
He took the reward money and bought a lid.

I am in love. Guess I better start working on my hitchhiking…
