Alcohol, Everything Else, Hurts

"My rule of thumb is that if you wake up not with a massive hangover but with enough of a feeling to think 'I drank too much last night', you will have drunk enough to damage your brain cells."
—Some doctor, who hates fun, happiness and probably himself, is all "blah blah blah drinking is bad." Whatever, as if LIFE doesn't damage brain cells in a million other ways. Anyhow, this article includes the alcohol diaries of a cross-section of Britons; a surprising amount of rose gets drunk on that benighted island.

I am on my way to becoming an Old, and I get the "I drank too much last night" feel sometimes even though I didn't drink anything (more than 2 beers and a glass of wine), so eff that guy.

I am old. In my youth life and drink were adventures to be savored. Hangovers and oblivion were part of the adventure. That life was a sham. I soon recognized that I was on the way to becoming a drunk. I sobered up and took to moderation. With a relapse now and then I have survived. Enjoy rather than destroy. And don't give me that brain guff; one misplaced foot behind the wheel of a car – disaster.
