After working around the clock for days and testing systems all night, the first G trains for passengers started rolling at 8:55 am.

Welcome back to New York City, isolated communities of Greenpoint and Fort Greene and Clinton Hill and near-Bed Stuy and South Williamsburg!

Word up.
I'm sorry I ever complained about you, G train.
@Leon Saint-Jean Goes somewhere.
So now I guess the L train is the Staten island of the system
Give credit where credit is due. The MTA has responded phenomenally to this crisis. I am still under the impression that the subway system is held together with chicken wire and masking tape, but it apparently is really high quality chicken wire.
Now as to the toxins from Newtown Creek that entered the subway tubes. Let's leave that to the future cancer studies.
It caught me off guard this morning, as I mistakenly bounded onto a G at 7th Avenue before realizing that a) The G was back and b) They were rolling big-boy size G trains.
