Chris Christie Really Enjoying This "Insulting the Republicans" Thing

"You can’t expect to be a leader of all the people and be divisive. Someone asked me, Why did Mitt Romney lose? And I said because he got less votes than Barack Obama, that's why."
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has decided to keep his new, post-Sandy personality.

Wait until his post-Hostess personality kicks in.

@dado Party in Ho-Ho-Kus tonite.

This isn't a new personality. He's just turning his existing (bloviating, asshole) personality on people that you don't like.

@deepomega I remember talking to my dad right after 9/11 about how everyone (me included!) was falling under the fascist sway of Rudy Giuliani, and he said "Well, people are responding to him in this crisis because he's a real person. I mean, he's a real asshole, but an asshole is a kind of person." Compare to Mike Bloomberg, who appears to be repulsed by human contact.

@jfruh I think that kinda gets to it. Like say what you will, the guy seems to really palpably love New Jersey, he just wants to bust up unions and the like. He's like your asshole brother-in-law

Fewer. He got fewer votes. Gah, I need a drink.

@riotnrrd He's anti-teacher, so what do you expect.

In a weird, ungrammatical way, I like the idea that they were "less" votes, but only because they were for Romney. Consider it a koan.

Speaking as a Texan, I would like to say, if we must have a Republican for governor, I dearly wish it were Christie rather than Perry. I still dislike his politics, especially concerning labor, but at least I can respect him as a man who puts his job before his politics.
