Gawker's "Fox Mole" Raided
I just got search warranted at 6:30am by a very polite crew from the DA's office. Took my iPhone, laptop, some old notebooks.

Gawker's Fox employee mole and brain surgeon Joe Muto had a big morning, with a small army from the D.A.'s office seizing his computer, phone and "notebooks." (Notebooks!) Muto says he is being accused of grand larceny. Clearly he doesn't have a lawyer or he wouldn't be tweeting about this.

Goddamn. Now I'll never know how sub-standard the coffee is in the breakroom at Fox news. Or how smelly Lou Dobbs' meat-farts are.
@Jeremy Mesiano-Crookston "Breaking news: Fox employees white. Paper plates NOT PROVIDED IN KITCHEN, here's a video clip of Geraldo Rivera wiping mustard off his tie!"
@Jeremy Mesiano-Crookston These madcap capers have all been foretold by the Apple Dumpling Gang, wherein a wealthy man's gold is causing so many problems that he has to give it away to fumbling outlaws. Hilarious hijinx ensue. Nick Denton is our Bill Bixby.
It's all good fun and games until somebody gets hurt.
@Peter Feld In fairness, Muto's finding, firing and subsequent prosecution was absolutely, 100% a part of the news-worthiness of this series. There is no way that the editorship at Gawker did not expect and plan for this. I think they expected to build up more of a following before it happened, and thus juice up the ratings, but after the iPhone 4 debacle, and subsequent Giz writer-home-search of a couple years ago, everyone associated with the Gawker organization knew what to expect when you fluster a large organization.
@Jeremy Mesiano-Crookston You're the faux mole! (ehhh sorry it's early)
I hope they aren't too freaked out by my 'dream journal'.
Gawker's not exactly smothering this story, either.
Nick Denton 1, Joe Muto -1, the rest of us 0.
Did anyone else see his interview on Reliable Sources with howie Kurtz? AND this guy is in the media? The interview was a nothingburger and Muto came off as thickheaded and utterly uninteresting. What is this man's IQ?
When does this guy get a book deal?
