Yes. Feist is the Michael Buble of self-conscious 35 year olds.

Lockheed Ventura (#5,536)

But who is the Indie Luther Vandross?

keisertroll (#1,117)

@Lockheed Ventura Wesley Willis

Harold Harldrotta (#11,523)

they are absolutely this generations vh1 john secada / celine dion crap
I'd add decemberists and norah jones to the list too

what the hell is wrong with people these days

bankers have stolen the country
and you are sleep walking through life to the sounds of comfortable unoffensive pop

LondonLee (#922)

Yes, if only the kids were listening to the Sex Pistols then we'd have a revolution!

Bittersweet (#765)

The bankers listen to Coldplay while they sit in their mansions and count their gold bars and Swiss francs.

amuselouche (#448)

@LondonLee I'm a corporate lawyer and spent most of the morning listening to X-Ray Spex. I think I'm listening wrong? HELP!

Also, 16 year old me like totaaaaaally hates adult me.

shostakobitch (#1,692)

@Harold Harldrotta Yes. So are The National and Grizzly Bear. Arcade Fire is U2. Everything is something.

Hey you know what would be good about now? Another round of people calling each other rockists.

jfruh (#713)

You'll pry Iron & Wine from my cold dead hands

s. (#775)

Carl Wilson wrote a characteristically smart piece on Feist and Wilco and taste and all that a few weeks ago.

dntsqzthchrmn (#2,893)

@s. God bless Carl Wilson for bringing Bourdieu and the narcissism of small differences in it. In fact I half hope he goes all Gail-Collins-on-Mitt-Romney in his reviews from here on out and just drops that phrase EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Or, the rest of music criticism could fall in the ocean. Either way, great.

Sure, why the gosh-darn not?

LondonLee (#922)

Ditto. Of course they are but what's wrong with that?

mimithedog (#1,165)

The sooner you silly people separate politics from pleasure in music, the happier you'll be.

I have to side with Sasha Frere-Jones on this one (!!!) : "It's hard to deal with vexingly adequate music."

laclabra@twitter (#90,640)

I love listening to dadrock in my momjeans.

Max Clarke (#3,635)

Feist's new album is now an NPR pledge premium. 'Nuff said.
