A Fresh Foot: The Great Canadian Severed Feet Mystery
"Tuesday’s discovery marks the eighth foot to be found on the B.C. coast since August 2007. Three more have washed up in nearby Washington…. All of the feet discovered so far have been in running shoes."
—But who are missing the feet? Yeah, here's the Wikipedia page, Encyclopedia Brown. (via)

You may want to talk to lifeaquatic about this. But don't mention my name.
Another reason not to wear sneakers, I suppose.
@Gef the Talking Mongoose well, it depends on how you look at it. The foam on the running shoes are the reason the feet float and are recovered. Were you wearing some fashional loafers, no trace of you would ever come ashore. (This is assuming your body is secretly disposed of at sea, which, hey, you never know!)
Frankly, I'm less disturbed by this than the sudden realization that I've been singing "Oh Canada" by the 1914 non-religious version, rather than today's.
@BadUncle: Sing it in French — problem solved.
@SidAndFinancy It's catchier in Innuit:
Uu Kanata!
Nangmini nunavut!
Piqujatii nalattiaqpavut.
Angiglivalliajuti,
Sanngijulutillu.
Nangiqpugu, Uu Kanata,
Mianiripluti.
Uu Kanata! nunatsia!
Nangiqpugu mianiripluti,
Uu Kanata, salagijauquna
@BadUncle: Call me a traditionalist, but I think rhyming "nunavut" with "nalattiaqpavut" just seems forced.
Theory one: The results of heinous passenger control on a boat transporting undocumented immigrants.
Theory two: Walter Sobchak is overdelivering.
Gang initiation rite for aspiring pirates.
You'd have to be a callous heel not to be saddened by the many tragic ankles of this story.
Where are the defensive people from Long Island to bitch at us for making light of a death story?
It would seem that something is afoot.
Probably Banksy.
People who were whacked in Russia?
There are feet above me and feet below me. I will not take a Russian vacation, strap on running shoes, or leave Seattle.
