i went to my local dive bar that night ignorant of this event. as i sat next to the wall underneath a picture of jesus clutching not a cross but a baseball bat, my friend pointed out that the bar-gal was wearing a black armband. we laughed, because we were dicks and didn't care. and now, although the sentiment still strikes me as juvenile, i feel like i'm the one who should be laughed at.
