20 People to Follow on Twitter: #19, Roger Clark

My cabbie is silently creeping me out, and the loud classical music makes me feel like I am in a Vincent Price movie #yikes!Tue Feb 01 08:22:22 via ÜberTwitter

Throughout the month, we're counting down our most favorite Twitter accounts, ranging from the infamous to the fake to the most horrific and the most hilarious. Let the games begin!

When you think of the great newsmen of America's TV stations, you naturally think of Pat Kiernan and Brian Bolter: dashing, great hair, funny Twitter accounts. (Well maybe it's just me.) And then there's Roger Clark: NY1's ridiculously great reporter, named in 2006 "The Last Schlub on TV."

Mostly we're in it for the kicks. Such as: bitching out competitors!

I know I don't always make sense, but some guy on another station just reminded us "if a tree limb gets icy, it may come down." #duhMon Jan 31 22:03:27 via ÜberTwitter

A lot of his Twitter life revolves around bar jukeboxes!

Was just hugged for playing "incense and peppermint" on the jukebox at reif's #tookind!Fri Jan 28 23:48:01 via ÜberTwitter

And bars in general.

Is is bad that I am already thinking about that hour or so that tends to be happy in certain establishments?Fri Jan 28 14:19:32 via ÜberTwitter

What is not to love here?

First meal of Hamburger Helper in new apartment tonight. Wonder I'd it will taste different?Tue Jan 18 22:29:52 via ÜberTwitter

Yes.

He seems to hang at Manitoba's. One night I bought him a beer, and he was totally surprised. I don't think he understands he's a celebrity.

That makes me feel even swoonier.

Hey lady! Some of us are dying for an update on how the rest of Bon L(h)iver or whatever the hell you ended up calling it turned out.

Oh! It went well – really glad I did it, though it was a drag while it was in effect and hooooooo boy did that first glass of wine back ever taste good! And the ice! Oh my God the ice!

I'm doing something even more insane for February: Gym every day for the month. (Fitruary? Gymruary? Hellruary?)

NY1 brings so much delight into our lives, every day.

Seriously, I don't know why anyone in NYC bothers with those foolish dish networks. (And since the ice and rain made a dish fall off my building last night, someone nearby is probably asking himself that same question.)

Uh oh. I'm suddenly flashing back to Carrie's prom.

Well, that's just awesome.

It helps you make a great meal.

The awkward relationship between Pat K. and Roger is part of what makes me feel grounded in NYC. I know I can count on Roger to say "Pat, Pat, watch me drive the zamboni, Pat!" And Pat will sigh and look irritated and say, "Uh, OK, but we really have to move on." And then I'll turn off the TV and go to work. Now that Pat is bantering more often (and more easily) with the traffic reporter, I feel slightly adrift.

Not only is he a clever mensch, but he also follows you back, so you can pretend that you're buddies IRL.
