Oh, thank GOD, I was a minute early and was frantically ::where is everybody::ing

barnhouse (#1,326)

I am so confusing with the extra website!

garge (#736)

Remember when people used to watch Picture In Picture on purpose?

garge (#736)

I am glad this preshow included a free Facebook commercial. Oh, Colin Firth. I'm sorry, where were we?

6h057 (#1,914)

Anybody got the score on the Jets' game?

::stomps off to post jokes on Summer of Megadeth::

Art Yucko (#1,321)

Only cares about Chefs vs. Meth

This is kind of exciting embarrassing myself across multiple platforms. [Sorry, Choire! I also kind of want to watch Harry's Law! And I love Kathy Bates!]

garge (#736)

I love Kathy Bates too, and was glad to be reminded of her new show! Shhh

HiredGoons (#603)

I couldn't find the James Franco live-feed, and lost interest rather quickly.

garge (#736)

I have a sneaking suspicion that Christian Bale had no idea who Carson Daly was

garge (#736)

So glad I downloaded Downton Abbey immediately after it aired in the UK so that I do not have a conflict of interest tonight.

barnhouse (#1,326)

I doubt that celebrities eat!

What?!

#56 (#56)

she annoys me to no end.

barnhouse (#1,326)

Oh gee whiz these people can't take a ribbing. Though a not-bad gleam in the eye of Johnny Depp also De Niro.

Hi I just turned on the TV. Did Peggy Bundy win for voicing the one-eyed lady in "Futurama"?

IN ESSENCE YES, WHICH, F YES.

Well all I can say is, it's about time.

barnhouse (#1,326)

Blue-blooded ordinary? Red-blooded extraordinary?! Is any of this thing in English, even.

I've never heard of "Carlos." It was a Santana docu-drama, I presume?

"He had a Black Magic Woman – and he also had a dark secret …"

garge (#736)

I had no idea that Michael C. Hall is a covert ginger. Under what rock have I been living?

garge (#736)

The Walking Dead was a contentious topic on Boston Craigslist's Missed Connections section this week.

barnhouse (#1,326)

So unwatchable (though am glad for Steve Buscemi?)

Abe Sauer (#148)

What does it say that nearly all of the college football games (and an increasing number of NFL games) have been moved to cable channels you have to pay for while all of the Hollywood awards shows remain on the networks?

It says college football fans don't support college football advertisers.

NinetyNine (#98)

Something something… coastal elites!

Am I right? Wha'd I win?

Something something dollars, yes. It definitely has to do with "advertising buckets." Short version?? They know "poor" people already are going to shop at Walmart, so why bother advertising? It's us rich coastal elites that might buy something somewhere else.

(I JUST BOUGHT SOME SOAP AT WALMART, DON'T HURT ME.)

Abe Sauer (#148)

Really? I would guess it says more about how audiences value the programming itself that programmers can count on them to follow the programming from free channels to non-free ones. Is there a cable channel that would pay good money to lock up the Globes?

Abe, any of them would. It's the only awards ceremony where they serve alcohol.

Niko Bellic (#1,312)

Right. I was just wondering when are Leno and Letterman going to be successful enough to make it to Comedy Central (for which you have to pay for) from the lowly NBC and CBS (which any fool can watch for free).

Choire, don't feel too bad. I bought some Rimmel lip gloss there about 10 years ago when they were the only US distributor.

Abe Sauer (#148)

If any of them would, they would have by now, no? Also, what does booze have to do with it?

Most of the participants get shit faced during the ceremony. Makes for better TV.

Abe Sauer (#148)

@Niko: Ha. What cable programming head in his right mind would shell out the amounts the demented Network owners would demand for either one of those expensive, dying shows?

Niko Bellic (#1,312)

@Abe: Hey, I'm all for subscription-only TV (paid for by mandatory tax even) like they have in good old UK (from where we copy all of our TV). Trouble is, we have this capitalism thing going on here, where we get more money out of lesser-quality products, you know. This is why we get to have more planes and rockets than them, and can keep all those colonies in check for them. Otherwise, we'd be nothing but 2nd best at their thing. And we can't have that, right? Especially not out in the college football country!

Abe Sauer (#148)

You mean Los Angeles?

If you refresh the page to see the comments down here, the chat up there resets and you have to click a button and sit through a commercial. This is make it hard for me to multi-chat.

garge (#736)

Two tabs, Hipps, two tabs, side by side!

Ah, good suggestion! I'll do that.

Choire, so you were the only other person in the world who liked Hudson Hawk??! I KNEW I loved you!

Matt (#26)

I liked Hudson Hawk.

Yaaaaaaaay, Matt! I knew I loved you, too, darlin'.
