Man, what a storm! The howling wind woke me up at 5 o'clock this morning, and then I couldn't go back to sleep. So, maybe because I still had Merry Clayton's gale of a voice in mind, I made a list of songs that fit the scene. Nothing else to do today but watch the videos. Certainly, no one should go outside.
Except that "Windy" is sort of about a soft breeze, as opposed to the howling variety. That's why I left out Donovan's "Catch the Wind," too. Which is a song I very much love.
i'm not a parrothead by any stretch of the imagination but i will defend mr. buffett's first 4 or 5 albums from here to eternity and his "trying to reason with hurricane season" from the album, a1a, is a great little tune. unfortunately i can't find a link that's not a clip or a fucking terrible 2000s live version.
Lou Rawls, "Dead End Street". It's snowing here in Chicago. The Hawk is flying off the Lake and it's already effing cold. We had rain last week, we'd like that rain back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6C64Ntjs1s
Milli Vanilli, "Blame it on the Rain" (hi? COME ON.)
Tina Turner, "I Can't Stand the Rain"
OMG AND! Oran "Juice" Jones alskhlskfhsklhf
Puleeze, Ann Peebles' "I Can't Stand The Rain"
Um, did you just 'puleeze' at Tina Turner???? You should be shivved with a stiletto heel for that.
I'm making an Association here.
Ohh. Totally. Good one!

(For a minute, I was like, "Cherish…?" "Along Comes Mary…?" I don't get it.)
