Watching Congress Live Is Apparently Just As Exciting As Watching It On C-SPAN

"Remarks from Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives (from C-SPAN 9/28/10 coverage). His grandson sits behind him." Given the harrowing story the Congressman is telling in this speech, it's probably all for the best that the kid keeps falling asleep. Sheesh! Anyway, meet your new meme.

When are they going to show that the whole room is empty, save for the scheduled next-congress-person-in-line to take their own time in front of the camera– child props and all?

Those seats do look comfortable.

Looks like it's warm in there, too. And I bet he just had a bunch of freedom fries in the cafeteria. My eyelids are getting heavy just thinking about it.

EVERY time I watch a hearing or an event in the congressional hall, there is someone dozing off behind the speaker. Watching them doze becomes mezmerizing. It reminds me of being a kid at church, trying to find something to pass the time away.
