For A Tiny Man, Mike Bloomberg Has Enormous Balls
"It would be a disaster if the government tries to get in to run small businesses. If they run the bars and restaurants, they'll try to run everything else. This is going down a path which is a terrible, terrible idea and would be disastrous for New York City."
-Mayor Bloomberg explains why he's going to veto a bill mandating paid sick leave for all employees in New York City. It's an excellent point; if you tell bars and restaurants how to run their businesses they will totally shut down.
If people cut back on their salt intake and stopped smoking and drinking soda like the Mayor wants us to, we wouldn't need sick days in the first place.
Odd that this man who cares so much about my health seems to enjoy making me feel ill!
Seems like legislating healthy diet practices is far more intrusive than this.
The Mayor would prefer not to receive complimentary loogey surprise.
That one might be hard to avoid. Unless he pays for his specific servers and cooks paid sick leave with his BAJILLION dollars.
