Kind of afraid to watch this

Slava (#216)

You should be.

LolCait (#460)

Was the cameraman crying by the end of this taping?

wb (#2,214)

This is EXACTLY what its like to have a conversation with Tao. Meaning, kinda excruciating.

Art Yucko (#1,321)

His voice is like Cygnus X-1. There's no escape.

davidwatts (#72)

It's like they were on the most awkward date in history, and by the end they kind of liked each other, but the thought of ever sitting at a table with the other person ever again was so terrible that they never ever called each other, ever again.

I, um, can't relate to that at all. At all.

metoometoo (#230)

Is it a bad sign if I find it easy to understand and relate to Tao Lin?

"No I'm being normal right now."

I really found this equal parts charming and terrifying. And also funny! To me it was like the awkwardness of all early encounters with other people. And that was nice to see really fully represented. I liked the happy end quite a bit.

wb (#2,214)

It really was strangely endearing, in a way!

Apparatchik (#811)

Wow. His doctor really needs to dial down his zyprexa dosage.

deepomega (#1,720)

This makes me wish I was drunk. Maybe my drinking would pass through the internet, to when this video was made, and lubricate the socializing?

lempha (#581)

A hidden gem. Like most of Emily's, hopefully.

Itisnobigdeal (#3,290)

"No, I'm being normal right now." He has indigestion face. This interview was pretty enjoyable!

Tranpsosed (#709)

Kinda glad the bite/spit method didn't occur to me when I first started making meals for myself.

Maybe he is not allowed to have knives.

Emily (#20)

(whispers) gold star

MollyculeTheory (#4,519)

I am getting a terrible feeling I have used that method when drunk & have just suppressed it from memory.

PropSword (#2,870)

Somehow I can see bite/spit method occurring to me if I were to try that salad.

theGoldenAss (#4,853)

I made it to 1:23. Did anyone make it to 2:00?

Bittersweet (#765)

1:26. Voice + Major Awkward = Excruciating

That. Did. Not. Just. Happen. And HE ENJOYED IT TOO. OMG.

jrb (#3,020)

This is going to get him so much pussy.

best episode ever. "i'm being normal right now."

The nori question is key. "SO THAT IS THE FUN PART OF THIS PUNITIVE MEAL?"

Tao Lin (#7,641)

I totally loved this episode. totally . Ten minutes and 2 seconds. totally.

dntsqzthchrmn (#2,893)

Move over, kids, I'm getting affect hungry!

6h057 (#1,914)

Why is salad the loneliest meal?

zidaane (#373)

I think next week Tao and Emily should buy shoes together and the week after that Tao accompanies Emily to a doctors appointment and the next week after that maybe they share a 4 hour train ride.

I would watch the hell out of that.

KeithTalent (#2,014)

"Microsoft (TM) find and replace"

I always call this ctrl-f

hazmathilda (#839)

One of my dear friends (vegan) used the bite-and-spit method to prepare everything from salads to veggie-loaded Bloody Marys. That coupled with how I love the cover design means I have to go lift a copy of Richard Yates sometime soon, I guess? It can live next to my And The Heart Says Whatever.

"oh" "wow" "that" "was" "great"

Nevermeant (#7,950)

It's funny to travel back in time and read this:

Little did she know about futuresaladz.

Adam Taylor (#6,134)

ignoring the 10,000 other things of note about this video, i would kinda like to taste that salad

Sam Klingberg (#7,987)

"I didn't expect, me to…to do this well." Perhaps he *expected* to just bite off the cucumber in the first place…
