Local Woman Values Human Life, Writes Blog Comment

....In this morning's thoroughly believable news, our Dodge Charger-owning friend from New Jersey, whose ride received an efficient totaling from a young misguided would-be suicide, "put the brakes on her pity party writing on the paper's website, 'I have not slept since this has happened. My heart and prayers go out to the family.' The Post denies that it misrepresented the woman's words saying she 'dron[ed] on about her car to a reporter in three conversations.'" To be fair to our newly car-less neighbor, this is not the first time someone has felt misrepresented in the Post.

She is a human. Something happened. She had a reaction — to how it affected her — and did not have the general reaction a disinterested person would have. So far so human.

Then, a reporter — fame — got involved. She had another human reaction. Over and over. Still pretty damn human.

So, New Jersey — still not overrun with shapeshifters. And New York, still prompting people to miss the bigger picture.

"I truly hope she steps back and realizes how foolish it is to prize a vehicle over a human life." yeah the life that the jumper prized so highly…I lost a dear friend this summer and another 3 years back to suicide and from the bottom of my heart… fuck this guys friends. Why should this woman, innocent mind you, fall victim to one guys depressive, selfish bullshit. So she loves her car… she worked hard a paid for that shit and no pussy has the right to fall out of the sky and take it away. What if she had been standing there outside of her car and was hurt?

My heart goes out to her car.

Zipcar is using this in their next ad campaign.
