Gulf Oil Spill What? New Orleans Drowning (In Saints News)

NOLASome of us turn to nola.com each day, the online presence of the New Orleans Times Picayune, to stay up to date on, like, New Orleans, and news of the Gulf. Apparently they have a football team-information regarding which blankets their front page. If you dig inside, you can find a news section though! There you can learn that the six-month federal deepwater oil drilling moratorium-the one that affected just 33 of the new Gulf oil drilling locations-is destroying America's small, family-owned businesses. In other news, the Deepwater Horizon well was, after five months, finally permanently sealed over the weekend.

How dare they focus on something fun and uplifting for once rather than the same depressing crap they've been dealing with since April.

Exactly. Scandalous that the sound of gnashing of teeth and rending of garments might be replaced for a few minutes by happy, cheering crowds.

With the well sealed, we never have to talk about that ugly time again [that oil pelican got comp. tickets to the game!]

So sorry that a local paper is covering issues of current local interest. See, sometimes newspapers cover things that people would like to read about instead of a 6 month old incredibly depressing story with no new developments.

As a New Orleanian let me apologize on my city's behalf for offending your sensibilities.
