Bear Does Yoga

"Meta Penca, a visitor to Ahtari zoo, took these shots of a female brown bear doing her morning stretches"Even if you do not share my obsession with bears you should absolutely check out this photogallery "of a female brown bear doing her morning stretches." The pictures are amazing. (Unrelated: It is depressing that I am much less flexible than a caged animal.) I can't tell from the captions if Meta Penca is a professional photographer or just someone who happened to be at the zoo with a camera, but either way these are terrific shots. Additional credit goes to the folks at the Guardian for resisting the obvious "Yogi Bear" pun.

Would the lady like a little Honey in her Kombucha?

The British can't resist what they are oblivious to. The Dan Aykroyd CGI masterpiece version of Yogi Bear will be sure to change that.

Mercy, that bear needs a modesty patch!

I'd agree, but I'm so used to seeing that stuff east of the Bowery every weekend night I forget not to go there…

Seriously, it is really hard to square up shots of even inanimate objects. Nice job, Meta Penca!

We smile and point when she's got thorns in her feet, and then wonder why she'll maul her keeper.

she's doing "boat" pose. interestingly lots of yoga poses are named after animals but I don't believe there are any "bear" asanas. Balk, if a bear can do yoga, you can do yoga.

Wouldn't her feet be together in boat pose? I think she's doing upavishta (sp?) konasana B, particularly in slide two.

Morning stretches, my arse.
Girlfriend's a brazen hussy flashing her lady bits for some AM action.
