42-Year-Old 'New York' Magazine To Be Profitable "Next Year"
The confusing end of this bit by New York Times blogger Jeremy Peters seems to indicate that New York magazine loses money: "So has all that attention translated into being profitable? Imagine how insane you could get on $37,475 a year back then. I would have bell bottoms made of gold thread.
Now, one would barely afford trousers.
Can't wait for Rupert Murdoch to turn it into crap again, if the back issue from 1979 I have for some reason is any indication.
When I read that piece on NYT, I thought the "profitable" was referring to the Vulture site, as a standalone p/l, not New York Mag as a whole.
