Why We Cry

Why do we cry? To get attention, to get what we want, or to get away with something bad we did. And also because it might make us feel better.

I know now why you cry. But it's something I can never do.

Wonderful, WONDERFUL song; terrible, terrible fake guitar-playing.

I know some big boys who cry, too.

Oh, shit, I didn't notice the Rosey Grier thing. My wife and I JUST THIS WEEK got Free To Be You And Me for our kids, and after not listening to it AT ALL for the first few days (because, you know, the parents thought they'd like it), they are now totally listening to it (on the ipod, natch, so we wouldn't have to hear it, except, of course, they sing along).

Bittersweet (#765)

The Rosey Grier song is OK but it's got nothin' on the baby dialogue and "Glad to Have a Friend Like You."

I must go back and listen; my memories of those far-off days are shoddy due to my advanced age and the things I did in the 80s.

As for Love 'n' Kisses, right back at ya.

"Your mommy hates housework. Your daddy hates housework. I hate housework, too. And when you grow up, so will you!"

Bittersweet (#765)

@kneetoe: Don't do blow. I learned that very well in the 80s. Thanks, Nancy Reagan.

@C_Webb: Love it! Smooches all around!

I may be crying on the outside, but on the inside I am laughing because by crying on the outside I am getting this sex for free.

Rollo (#3,202)

I cry because movie people know just how to push my buttons. Damn you, Hollywood!

deepomega (#1,720)

I never cry.

Tuna Surprise (#573)

I cry because I'm a woman and women take breakups harder than men.

doubled277 (#2,783)

isn't that not true though? Didn't science tell us that men actually take break-ups harder (probably because they don't have as strong of a support group that is willing to talk about it openly)?

garge (#736)

I read in an interview with Bran Renfro that Susan Sarandon gave him secret advice for how to cry on cue while they were making The Client, and I have been DYING to know.

And .. now I am crying, just thinking about Brad Renfro dying.

garge (#736)

That is BRAD Renfro, he doesn't have an equally dead brother named Bran who acted in The Client uncredited.

mathnet (#27)

Bran is regular guy.

mathnet (#27)

Aaaahaha, moving right along. . .

I cry because this award means so much to me.

cherrispryte (#444)

What else am I supposed to do while desperately hoping the Apocalypse comes early?

HiredGoons (#603)

I don't cry, I send letters made out of cut-out newspaper characters.

hman (#53)

"So you said good night, but you meant goodbye…"

garge (#736)
