Was Woodrow Wilson Completely Incompetent?

THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE BRAIN-CRADLEOh, we talk a lot of smack about Ronnie Reagan. But Woodrow Wilson? Paranoid, suspicious, raging; his wife fired anyone who suspected him of being incompetent. And according to the biographer of his marriage to Edith Wilson: " I just found it so unbelievable that they would have toyed with the fate of this country, the welfare of this country, these two irresponsible people, certainly this lady was…. She was probably a very limited woman, intellectually. I'm being very kind. She wasn't a very educated woman. And she was a very vain woman." Oh, Errol Morris, you are rocking my world.

WOW.

He was also a firm supporter of the Ku Klux Klan.

He was a member of the Klan.

The suffragists had to practically beat him about the face and head to get him to support the 19th amendment.

His name is an anagram for "Wow, winos drool!" I think my point is clear.

This series is completely amazing. Part 2 about the fake hysterics and hypnosis and the weird sexual voyeurism part of early psychoanalysis was also completely awesome (and Marcel Proust on his deathbed!), amongst other treasures.

indeed!

As a total Errol Morris fanboy, I urge you to Netflix his 2-season TV Series "First Person". Each episode is essentially a single long-form interview by Morris with … well, whoever he's interested in (Temple Grandin, the director of the Mutter Museum, Ted Kaczynski's pen pal, etc.). It's great.

Also, courtesy of Errol Morris's website, here is the single best thing you'll watch on the Internet today: Donald Trump on "Citizen Kane".

"The President lay stretched out on the large Lincoln bed."

Um, I would have asked to placed ANYWHERE ELSE.

Should have seen this coming. Wilson transferred from Davidson to Princeton after his freshman year because he couldn't handle the pressure.
