Happy Social Media Day, Everybody!

it looks so peaceful, floating in the skyHey, "the revolution of media becoming social" (and freeing itself from the tyranny of copyediting, apparently) gets its 45,385th chance to shine today! Say goodbye to reading magazines just to read them or maybe reflect on their content and start metamicroblogging and adding the "Tw" prefix to already made-up words and campaigning to become the mayor of your local Starbucks. Or, you know, you could just book a train ticket.

I'm sorry, today's already in my calendar as Fantasia Barrino's b-day.

Oh God. That Mashable font is definitely not worth celebrating.

An entire page of silly fonts, Twitters, Facebook updates, Flickr links, etc. makes me want to celebrate by pressing the Recluse button.

Nor is that shitty intern-quality Illustrator background. Eugh.

I'm happier celebrating the revolution in very pleasant temperatures today.

"reading magazines just to read them or maybe reflect on their content"

Or reflect in their content, if viewing on an iPad.

I thought we did this at Scratcher on the 17th?

Oh shit, I almost forgot it was SMDay! I gotta go twlog some bleets and maybe twumbl some twics!

Art Yucko (#1,321)

don't do it all at once = Fwail Twhaleblr!

Bittersweet (#765)

Careful when you're twogging your bleets…I hear guys' bleets can be pretty sensitive.

deepomega (#1,720)

Some guys like their bleets twogged pretty vigorously. I think there's a whole section of craigslist devoted to this.

I feel like one of those parents who has to explain why there's no kids' day. EVERY DAY IS SOCIAL MEDIA DAY.

I celebrated Antisocial Media the other day, and I didn't tell any of you fuckers about it.

BadUncle (#153)

I thought today was Shavuot.

Crantastical (#4,127)

Today is also Reproductive Independence Day:
