So here's a great new song from Big Boi (I know, I know. But he just keeps making great new songs!) and his Outkast partner Andre 3000. Unfortunately, it seems as though it will might not be included on his Def Jam album, Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Return of Chico Dusty, when it hits stores next month. According to the track list released this week, "Lookin' For Ya" and another wonderful collaboration between the two, "Royal Flush," will be omitted because of contractual shenanigans being enacted by Outkast's label, Jive Records. This is terrible.
This is pretty much the best rap music being made at the moment. And we've been waiting for it for more than a year. Someone please fix!
Current track list:
1. Feel Me (Intro)
2. Daddy Fat Sax
3. Turns Me On feat. Sleepy Brown & Joi
4. Follow Us feat. Vonnegutt
5. Shutterbugg feat. Cutty
6. General Patton
7. Tangerine feat. T.I. & Khujo Goodie
8. You Ain't No DJ feat. Yelawolf
9. Hustle Blood feat. Jamie Foxx
10. Be Still feat. Janelle Monáe
11. Fo Yo Sorrows feat. George Clinton, Too Short & Sam Chris
12. Night Night feat. B.o.B & Joi
13. Shine Blockas feat. Gucci Mane
14. The Train Pt. 2 (Sir Lucious Left Foot Saves The Day) feat. Sam Chris
15. Back Up Plan

Dave, have you heard "General Patton" yet? HOLY CRAP.
(I trust that you've heard "Fo Yo Sorrows", "Shine Blockas", and "Shutterbugg".)
Yes, they are all so excellent. Will be a such a shame if these two also excellent andre collaborations can't join them.
Between his new album and Janelle Monae's album, Big Boi has been killin' it.
I wish Andre 3000 could be as busy as Big Boi seems to be these days (because whether or not those songs end up being on the album - not likely, it seems - Andre appearing on his Outkast partner's album is pretty much expected and obligated, don't you think?).
Janelle Monae is AMAZING!!!
"Well here's a revolutionary idea
...like we work at IKEA
Test every piece of furniture to see if it is stable
you wanna take it out and me to do it on the table, MMMM. Blow to the head, it's fatal!"
HAH.
(I really wouldn't recommend doing that on the KAFFATORP.)
Based on the picture, do they get their furniture from the same place as Bruno?

I'm now 80% certain that I'm the only person who thinks everything Outkast/the members of did after "ATLeins" is terrible.
Big Boi told GQ yesterday:
"Jive Records told me my album is a piece of art, and they didn't know what to do with it. So I moved it over to Def Jam. And now Jive is trying to block Dré from being on my record. We can't be on songs together now." (http://bit.ly/9c9uod)
As Nah Right points out via Clipse, Them crackers at Jive still ain't playing fair: http://bit.ly/9kwtTt
Big Boi needs to consider Radiohead style distribution experiments and consult Prince on evading prohibitive recording company hijinks.
