Anti-Gay Lawmaker Probably Just Doing Research

Shocking news out of California, where a Republican state senator with a history of hostility to gay rights legislation was arrested for driving drunk after spending time at a popular Sacramento gay bar. Not only that, there was an unidentified male (who, the news report helpfully notes, was not a fellow lawmaker) in the passenger seat! This is kind of astounding to me. Why would a guy who does not support gays go to one of their gathering places? And why would he leave with another man? I can't for the life of me understand any of this. It seems completely unprecedented.

He probably had to use the washroom.

Yeah, there was something in there he really needed. THAT 'SOMETHING' WAS A STRANGER'S PENIS.

(I think i've totally nailed comedy delivery, you guys)

I read "STRANGER'S" as "STRANGER."

The guy just needed a ride?

Yes. A long, hard ride.

He was getting that unidentified sinning male stoned.

This is the nuttiest thing I've ever heard. Maybe it's one of those, "The surgeon was a woman," explanations. Something that seems obvious later but that I can't grasp now.

LOL.

He must have gotten lost on his way to the airport.

"I was only in there to get to directions on how to get away from there."

I knew you'd say it before I could.

I can't be sarcastic, no matter how many instances emerge they gut me. We've all hated ourselves this much. I have.

RichUncleSkeletor

Hating yourself and being self-destructive are totally fine by me (probably a little too fine), it's the nasty hypocrisy I have an issue with.

Brian

Of course, but my response to that hypocrisy ends up being empathy immediately, rather than moving through any other stage of grievance.

This makes me feel... gleeful. Faces is one of the biggest, most obvious gay bars in Northern California (outside of SF, of course).

Can't a right-wing politician just get a little sum-sum from a str8 dude without the media being all up his ass? What's this world coming to?

If the media was all up his ass, he wouldn't have had to go to the bar.

He saved that impressionable young man from the corrupting influence of The Gays - what a hero!

Hey, you can't hold a guy accountable for what he does while he's drunk driving.

This has almost gone beyond parody. It's like voting against gay rights is the surest sign of being gay.

Strategery!

lost_in_transubstantiation

Ha! Our decades-long gay agenda to discredit homophobic politicians by planting homos among them is finally bearing fruit.
