Oh and ew ew ew, if you read all the way to the end (WHAT? I MAKE A LOT OF SALADS.) they basically tell you that even if you wash the greens yourself there will still be poo bacteria on your leaves.
I remember that, too...I think they found that washing removes any anti-bacterial properties, and provides the little buggers with an even more fertile environment in which to grow? But I'm a fully-paid-up member of the Cult of Christopher Kimball, so don't listen to me.
Making everything sterile just ends up making it worse (HAND SANITIZER IS EVIL) - a little poo on your greens probably makes your immune system more resilient against shit (heh) that can REALLY fuck your shit (heh) up.
Also, the pastic bags are an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, creating protected conditions for it to flourish that don't exist when it's simply exposed to the elements. Remember the spinach scare? That was because of bagged, pre-washed spinach.
But that's what life is, for all of us: even those who shop at Whole Foods. We eat shit and die.

Actually, the nerds at Cook's Illustrated did some testing and found that rinsing the greens actually spread the bacteria further.
But I've never gotten sick eating pre-washed greens, so fuck it.

Protip: there is poop in, like, everything.

Hopefully you hadn't already ingested the bottom half.
You can buy those chocolate covered, someplace.
You can by them fried (DELICIOUS) at this new agish diner (name escapes me) off Union Square near the Fillmore East.
Galaxy Global, I believe.
Yes!
I have noticed the faintest hint of Baby Ruth. No big deal.
Good thing there's Prozac in the water or I'd be depressed about this.
