This documentation of his endless press tour-which is a hideous, broken system of publicizing movies-actually makes me like Up in the Air director Jason Reitman again a bit! It's mostly meaningless, just like interviewing film directors.

You know, Up in the Air reminded me of Legal Eagles in a really good way.
HA! What about Charlie Rose vimeo bombing!
I like this! a creative snapshot of a day in the life. does he buy tickets to his own movie though?
I don't know if he's buying tickets to his own movie or not, but is he really watching it this many times? That's either the most depressing or most damning bit about this whole video.
I dissent. It's impossible this wasn't made by an annoying person. Think about him taking each one of these pictures, planning to use them for this.
Saw his movie last week. Can't remember it.
Cosign. What's the message here? The people he's shooting are interchangeable plebes? Or that the task of promoting his movie (which, BTW, is part of the fucking job) is endless and repetitive? Or that he's so fabulous that folk are just pie-eyed aww shucks to see him from coast to coast?
Haven't seen the film. Actually heard it was delightful. Kinda want to wait till I can steal it from the internet now.
yes
Lulu I can't believe you haven't received your screener yet. I thought everyone in the northern hemisphere got one.
Ok, I am "unsophisticated" and "innocent," but I think this little video is great! It's neither boastful nor condescending! On the contrary, it's about the exhilaration and exhaustion and absurdity of the press tour, isn't it? I mean, why open and close with shots of the Orlando International Airport tram if not to capture the cartoonish fun and disorientation of it?
I'm with you. Also, "Janie Jones" was both fitting and very nice to hear again; I can't keep from singing when Mick Jones joins in at the end.
Please get back to me when you father-financed, mediocre, over-hyped film comes out next December in time for your relentless Oscar campaign. I am sure I will love everything about you and it.
I recognize a few of the poor jerks in that video. Press junkets are teribble for eveyone involved, or at least anyone who still has a sense of shame. You smile and hope you get your quotes and move on.
I'm sure Reitman didn't mean for it come off that way, but the whole thing feels like a cool kid showing off how many dorks just wanted to get in the room with him.
Of course, it doesn't help that he made a whole movie about rich white people who have difficulty picking just one person to fuck.
