An "analyst" is already projecting that the "Apple tablet" will make $3 billion in its "first year." At this point, I basically hope that the damned Apple announcement on Wednesday is a flatscreen ham radio or something. Or like, a portable "AM/FM" "Walkman." Remember when you used to have devices that would let you get "radio transmissions"? I miss the radio.

LOL HAM RADIO!!!
I'd like a flatscreen ham, myself. Mmm, salty.
If it makes women cut their nails, I'm all for it.
What about the one that actually works right that they release six months later? How much will that make?
Forty-three dollars and seventy-eight cents.
I agree with everything here except the part about radio.
My first Walkman (the WM-R2) put the "Solid" in Solid State. I miss that fucking doorstop with a cassette deck.
You're referring to the fillings I had to remove with my swiss army knife?
(Shhh, let's all agree not to tell Choire about the "radio" feature on newer model iPods.)
THERE'S WHAT?

SHHHHHH I SAID DON'T TELL.
Tivo for radio?! Mind is blown.
De-lii-laaah, here I come.
I'll rip the keyboard off of your laptop for a sawbuck.
While my opinion of Apple, products and fanbase both, has historically flitted between indifference, scorn and bombastic rage, if you can draw in freehand on this thing I think I'd be interested.
Word is that there won't be a stylus, so uh you can probably fingerpaint in freehand?
You can't even say "don't touch that dial!" anymore.
There used to be an ad on one of the Erie PA stations for a local radio station down there, and the tag line was like (deep radio voice) "WJET Rock Radio. Tune it in, AND RIP YOUR KNOB OFF"
i still call them 'albums'.
"Of course the Mousemobile comes loaded with options; electric windows, 8 track, and cassette."
Oh God. Another 'must-have' doohickey? When is someone going to talk about all the fucking crap that goes into/onto these pods, pads, phones, tablets, TVs and such.
I miss the radio back when Knifecrime Island was still just the Isle of Bad Teeth. Only three stations: BBC Home Service, BBC Light Programme and BBC Third Programme.
Grumble fucking grumble.
I still have the TDK cassette head demagnetizer I bought when I was 17 from Tower Records. OMG! I have these things!!!!
When it's obsolete in 17 months, it'll make a nice dinner tray.
