Blogger To Publish Book in 2010!

BLOGGER!Every year, I ask myself: am I going to read anything that is made-up this year? For 2010, I am not so sure. The invented seems so unrewarding. Still! Here is a preview of the first half of the year in mostly-fiction. Can you believe people have the gall to turn blogs into books? Like that crazy kid José de Sousa Saramago, the author of Blindness? Sheesh, some nerve.

Not to Be That Way, but man, there are a lot of dudes on that list.

(I count seven female authors? One of whom is a contributor to the site.)

I don't read novels. I prefer good literary criticism. That way you get both the novelists' ideas as well as the critics' thinking. With fiction I can never forget that none of it really happened, that it's all just made up by the author.

It might take some gall to turn a blog into a book. But it takes even more gall to turn deleted emails into a book, as I plan to do with the February release of "Emails I Almost Sent But Instead Deleted."

Joanne, you filthy chlamydic whore,

Does this sound familiar to you? Burning sensation during urination? Swollen testicles? Because having just returned from the emergency room it sure sounds familiar to me. Oh, I'm sorry, does this email sound accusatory. Well, perhaps that's because you are THE FIRST PERSON I'VE SLEPT WITH IN MORE THAN 13 MONTHS!!!!!

Let me ask you something, are you actually porn star, or just naturally slutty?

Dear Joanne,

Apologies for the delay in getting in touch with you, I've been a little under the weather with some kinda bug. (No worries, doc started me on antibiotics, says it should clear up in no time.)

Anyway, thanks for the great time last Thursday and for staying over. It's been a long time since I felt like I've had such a connection to someone. Some of those moves were, like, porn star WOW (in a good way, not slutty)!

If you're free this weekend, wanna hang out, maybe watch a movie?
