@antarctica starts here I did the "not the Onion" thing this morning but I thought it truly was appropriate and was a headline that very specifically sounded like an Onion-style satirical headline, an NYT headline that read something like "Debate over secrecy will be difficult due to secrecy."
I get where you're coming from: we really should just all kill ourselves so all forms of human communication and interaction would just end. That way, we'd never have to worry if our style of online communication was clever and original enough to impress a dude who works for HuffPo. #smarttake #shotsfired #iseewhatyoudidthere #slatepitches #derp #trollsohard #facepalm
@ericdeamer " In many cases, branded hashtags have backfired against their creators — so much so that there’s a name for the phenomenon: the “bashtag.” #bashtag

Thank you so much for this Choire. I love this show, and Tatiana Maslany's performance in it, so much I can't describe it. But I think it's pretty upfront about the setting being Toronto, where it's also obviously filmed. I've seen Ontario license plates a bunch of times. I don't remember seeing NYPD cars.
I would've liked to see the cover of Van Halen's 1984 worked in here somehow.
OMG! I am so jealous you're going to get to see this at Bengie's. I love drive-ins and Bengie's is probably my favorite one in the whole country. When I still lived in the tri-state area I used to drive all the way down to Bengie's every Memorial Weekend to see the dusk till dawn show of all the big summer movies. Seeing Fast Five in that environment was one of the funnest movie going experiences I've ever had. Now that I live in Ohio, driving all the way to the Baltimore area just to go to a drive-in seems a little over the top.
@Gef the Talking Mongoose To be fair, he is merely a sentient, tweeting egg.
I totally thought this was going to talk about millions of pounds of a different type of waste.
