On The MoMA Admission Increase is Horrible
$25 is 3.4 hours of minimum-wage work. The poor don't need to look at art, I guess.

On God Hates Bears
There is, perhaps, biblical precedent for this, in 2 Kings 2:23-25, the story of Elisha, maybe the best part of the Bible:
23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.

On 'I Am Love' Rolls Out to America
To quote Keith Gessen from a long time ago: Baudrillard said there'd be days like this. You get the idea that the director saw the old Douglas Sirk films, didn't understand English very well, and then set out to recreate what he thought he'd seen. Tilda Swinton was taught Italian & Russian and some Italian actors were taught English & Russian. Some Morandi paintings were fabricated to signify class. Then the cameraman was given a lot of meth. Then John Adams was brought in to clean everything up with the score.

On 'I Am Love' Rolls Out to America
Honestly: this film is in the same realm of batshit insanity as Will Smith's Seven Pounds.

On It's Never Too Early For A Courtney Love Joke
What was wrong with the Gus van Sant one? That should be enough of a Kurt Cobain biopic for any one.

On Tao of Dow: Awesome Taiwanese Boy Out-Whitneys Whitney; Man-Sized Lizard Has Two Penises
Most lizards (and snakes) have two penises, so this isn't actually surprising or news: they're called hemipenes.

On A Slice Of Life From Queens On Election Day
Things picked up later in the day - by seven, the atmosphere was distinctly carnivalesque, almost as many people out as last November. An ice cream truck even.
It's worth pointing out that Hiram wasn't always so reprehensible:
blabbeando.blogspot.com/2010/03/so-hiram-monserrate-walks-into-gay-bar.html. Maybe Albany makes people go bad?

On "Reamde" and Why
Is it that hard for electronic book-makers to hyphenate their text? Looking in the missing teeth in that page of text makes me want to tear out my eyes. So does Stephenson's prose, but that's another problem.
