On Your Daily Reminder That You Are Going To Die
I channel by resentment toward God into nagging people about the difference between lie<\i> and lay<\i>.

On What Books Make You Cringe To Remember?
I spent many, many, many hours during high school in the university library reading all the books about homosexuality in the psychology section (titillating!) as well as what must have been hundreds of back issues of the Village Voice. I was a Musto obsessive from 15-18.

On Project Glass: The Future That No One Wants
@Josh Lieberman
It's good that the 6 is out of service because he's about to get on the uptown platform.
Also, in the future Strand moves from Broadway to University. Good to know!

On Authentic (Possibly Racist) Natchez Cheese Grits Casserole
"Do they use pepper in the Old South?"
Yes, even down (t)here they walk around the casual fine dining restaurants aiming their big-ass mills at your salad. They also invariably promise to "be taking care of you tonight."

On Buying The Bottom Shelf: An Adventure In Cheap Liquor
Great post! Great comments! Main counter-intuitive learnings summarized for the other latecomers:

On A Book That Seeks to Educate Women About Losers
Is this more or less urgent than helping (certain) straight women dump the dead weight of their undermining gay man friends? It could be called, maybe, "Just Because You See Yourself as a Hag Doesn't Mean I Want To Be Called a Fag: Maybe This Relationship Is Based on Unearned Trust." Or, "I Am Not Joking, I Will Knife the Next Person Who Says - Admiringly - I Look Like Stanford Blatch."

On Veggie Moussaka With Puy Lentils
This beautiful post makes me wish I knew how to use my new Pinterest account! I am going to create a "Bechamel" board. I also suspect this egg-fortified bechamel would be unstoppable on baked spring veg like baby carrots and new potatoes.
