@BoHan Yeahhh. And also, there's an inside number of abandoned apartments because of the crazy rent laws. My older cousin was almost kicked out of his apartment because of them, and my friend who is a student at the Sorbonne lives outside of Paris in the suburbs, anyway. Who lives in Paris except for people like Woody Allen? This is the same reason why I left New York City. I just couldn't take it.

I love Paris, of course, but I have a cousin who is an unrepentant Parisian (77 years old, he was friends with Andy Warhol and moved to Paris in the 70's after going to the Sorbonne) who likes to badmouth the provinces, so I kind of hate it? I studied in Aix-en-Provence and I'm going to go teach English in Lille so I'm kind of looking forward to see something more like the "real" France (not like anything can be more "real" than anything else but I mean like less crazily venerated? Idk, Paris is weird.)
