Target and Best Buy will not be getting any more of my money. I don't care about their "unwavering support" for their LGBT employees or the community in general. You can't have it both ways by supporting a candidate who is for big business but against the LGBT community. It's a slap in the face. How can they claim "unwavering support" when they donate to a candidate they know is vocally anti-gay? Target can support all the Pride events it wants, but as long as they advocate putting politicians in office who would rather see the people at those events put to death instead of allowing them the same basic rights as everyone else, I will take my business elsewhere. And shame on the HRC for refusing to address the issue. One of the points in their index of rating companies states: "Exhibits Responsible Behavior Toward the LGBT Community; Does Not Engage in Action
That Would Undermine LGBT Equality. Employers Found Engaging in Such Activities Will
Have 15 Points Removed From Their Scores."
It seems to me that supporting a candidate like Emmer is an action that undermines LGBT equality, especially since Emmer has on his webpage that marriage is between one man and one woman. Sorry HRC, you've lost all credibility by not stepping up to the plate and calling out Target and Best Buy.
