On You Are Allowed To Use A Wheelie Bag
I agree that rolly bags are fine, but since airlines started charging for all checked bags people try to bring everything onto the plane. The overhead bins haven't gotten bigger so they fill up and they have to gate check their bags - for free! They are the one who should have to pay to check bags, not people who planned ahead.
