As I recall it wasn't the sleeping around or the drinking or even the conspicuous consumption and lack of responsibility people minded in 2004. It was the offensive and seemingly 100% genuine cuntiness she displayed towards what appeared to be nice and hard-working Real Americans on The Simple Life that turned her from just another in a line of shorthand-for-slut parental cautionary tales (remember the Madonna jokes of the 80's?) to a viscerally hated Marie Antoinette figure.

For the record, the line in Clueless referred to people in Kentucky marrying young, not marrying their cousins (obviously Cher had no compunctions about dating her stepbrother). And according to the 2000 census only citizens of Arkansas, Idaho, Oklahoma and Utah marry younger than Kentucky so it was not an unfair point. Most of the references to Kentucky do have mocking but not necessarily in an incestuous undertone.
