On Nine Recappers Who Make TV Better

"Besides, there's no point in reading things about TV shows written by people who are less smart than you. You would like them to bring something to the conversation you are already having!"

Should read: "If you're going to read television recaps about shows you already saw, you should at least read talented writers that let you forget momentarily how ridiculous it is that they're being paid to write recaps of television shows."

On The View At The Half

I see the Hornets play almost every night and, despite a few hiccups (against the Timberwolves last night being one of them), they've been solid all year long. They started the season 11-0 and went 12-4 in December. They also just barely lost to the Lakers despite not having Emeka Okafor or Trevor Ariza.

Also, to say that Paul carries the team's scoring is a pretty wild mischaracterization. The offense certainly revolves around Paul, but it's been David West that's been the pillar of scoring for the team this year with Ariza, Okafor and Marco Belinelli all averaging double-figures.

You say that this team has no legitimate scoring threat after Paul and West yet neglect to mention they lead the league in defense. Take a closer look at this team and you'll see that, with Monty Williams at the helm, these Hornets can compete with anyone in the League (mind you, they've beaten the Spurs [twice], Celtics, Heat, Magic, Mavericks, Thunder and Hawks, all legitimate contenders)

On The Hot Goss of 1952: JD Salinger Hosts Terrible Drinks Party

I remember J.S. was standing next to J.R. when J.D. shot him in the name of proofreading.

Or was it a dream?

On Nearly 100 People Choose Their #1 Album of 2010

I didn't realize honesty and originality were mutually exclusive.

Also, this isn't a "new" album in the truest sense but the Hendrix anthology "West Coast Seattle Boy" is spectacular. Ya-Ka-May still stands as the "new" album of the year in my book, though.

I bet the 13 people that picked Kanye feel very original.
