On Get Off The Internet For Under $50: Bruce Nauman at dia:beacon

The Serra stuff is my fave. Also, if you want to rent a car from Beacon to explore further afield, the Enterprise there is really helpful (though I did have an abnormally delayed experience with them the Friday of this holiday weekend). And you can eat at Poppy's (a small burger shack that has surprisingly good eats) and follow up with a paleta from Zora Dora's. I have a whole bunch of other tips on hiking and stuff here: http://www.jauntsetter.com/archive/trip_picks/easy-getaway-beacon-ny

On How To Date A White Bitch (Advice For The Non-White Dude)

It's true - there's something pretty spot on here with the Brie and grapes and parks. Sum > parts. Maybe in this particular scenario, add some chutney? I"m pretty sure I just figured out what I'm doing tomorrow afternoon.

On Everyone's A Tourist

"So I say, by all means let the American Vandal go on traveling, and let no man discourage him."

-- Mark Twain, in a lecture in the 19th century where he encouraged his audience, made up of your average "Vandals" (i.e regular folk like you and me), to ignore detractors and to travel despite potential naysayers.

Even 100 or so years ago, there was a certain disdain held for "American tourists," yes, us-as-Other, of a certain (middle class) ilk.

The more things change, the more things stay the same. http://www.jauntsetter.com/posts/dorkfest-an-entreaty-to-travel-from-mark-twain
