On How To Not Die In A Plane Crash

@barnhouse Your friend's accupuncturist must have very steady hands. Does he have to buy a full row of seats to have room for the table?

On "Read It Later": Republishing is Theft

Actually, reader already exists in Safari on OS X. Reader was announced as being added to iOS (for your iPhone or iPad).

Reading List was also announced. Functionally it is almost identical to Instapaper. You can "save" an article on Safari on your computer, iPhone, or iPad and read it later on the others. We do not know if it supports offline reading, which is one of the many wonders of Instapaper.

See here for slightly more informed commenting on Instapaper v. Reading List: http://www.marco.org/2011/06/06/safari-reader-and-instapaper

On 11 Name Suggestions For Winnipeg's New Hockey Team

I really like the Unicorns... however, I am pretty sure if they went that way, the horn would have to be made from a hockey stick.

On Inside the Post-It Note Anti-Obama Revolution

@Abe Sauer Thank you for the further clarification. I agree that when the Christian End Times rhetoric is included it makes it a different sentiment as well.

On Inside the Post-It Note Anti-Obama Revolution

I'm with you on most of this, however...

Just because crazy people support Israel, that does not automatically mean that supporting Israel is crazy. I realize the guy's groups are merely correlation and not causation, but it is really unncessary, and I think draws away from the actual point of the article.

These people's point would not be any different if they supported Quebec separatists, a unified Europe, or pan-arab nationalism. Why does it matter that he supports Israel?

On Is the Wisconsin Budget Like Obama's Health Care Reform? Well, Kinda!

As usual, an excellent piece.

I hope that one of these days everyone will see what is really happening, and we won't have to resort to corporate branded elementary schools and business friendly history books. Something tells me The Civil War (sponsored by Georgia Pacific) might not end the same way.

Or else, every 4 (or recalled 2) year cycle will never be spent moving us forward, and time will be taken merely undoing the work of those before us, regardless of who they were.

On St. John’s v. Rutgers: Why 1.7 Seconds Matter

To be fair, Fox does not really keep the ex-head of officiating around as much to embarass the referees as it does to back up the calls made with legitimate sounding references to the rule book. Even on wrong calls he gives reasons the referees were right, which is not nearly as revolutionary as it truly could be.
