On An Argument Across the Internet: Startups, VCs and Lifestyle

@smithsj (even if the current system makes him king of right in the "this is wrong but it's happening way too much" way?)

On Live From Last Night: F***ed Up and Titus Andronicus

That feeling when you spend all day writing about seeing these exact two bands in October and writing 1300 words and feeling pretty good about it and then the internet comes and shits on you because they both played in Brooklyn last night.

On The Shortening Lifespan of the American Movie Theater

Not to be That Guy (but I totally am): going to the theatres often leaves my blood boiling. If it isn't some idiot teenagers who won't shut up, then it's the middle-aged couple next to us who repeat every punchline or beat of the movie to each other as it's happening, as if they didn't hear it the first time. (Yes, I'm looking at you, annoying couple who sat next to my Dad and I during Moneyball.) People can't go 90 minutes without whipping their cellphones out during a movie. I'm no different, but at least I wait until I'm in the fucking bathroom. His argument only holds water until you realise no one should be let out in public, ever.

On "Brooklyn's first and only New England-style clam shack"… on Kickstarter!

@iantenna @allyzay Here's an ethical question for you: if someone thought up a creative campaign of some kind that was geared around pledging money to pay off their student debt, would that make Kickstarter? And would it make you go blind with rage or would it be a good use of Kickstarter's services.

On Gawker Media's Real Traffic

@BadUncle something similar happens if you're in Canada. If you click on a link you're taken to a ca.______.com/ url but the "#!" is included so it just takes you to the old layout of the homepage. you have to erase the "#!" from the url and then click again to view the post (or erase the "ca.").
