On Men Share Opinions About Angelina Jolie's Preventative Double Mastectomy

@IBentMyWookie Amputation is in no way appealing and yeah, if I faced it I imagine I'd learn just how apt "chilling" is as a descriptor. But it may, at this moment, be the best prevention for gene-linked cancers. Treatment of breast cancers also often require amputation, as well as other torments.

My original point was that Michael Skolnik, as a man seemingly far afield from the medical practice, ethics, research and advocacy community, could mind his own beeswax regarding the medical decisions of women and, IDK, advocate for cancer research funding.

@IBentMyWookie As is your prerogative. But what "trouble" does he see himself in if some women choose prophylactic mastectomy when facing high risk factors for specific cancers? I won't be considering him, you or anyone but my own interests in using the best medical science I can afford to survive cancer.

There will hopefully be better treatments soon but they'll probably be too late for women hitting 40 now.

On Chicks Dig Musicians: Study

I got interested in music right around the same time I started puberty. There was some kind of imprinting on musicians. Apparently.

On Blue Angels Air Shows, the Only Live Theater Real Americans Love, Shut Down By Sequester

Going out to some un-blasted airfield, you say? How 'bout turning your head slightly toward the window and clearly seeing the pilot's helmeted head as he careens past your downtown San Francisco office building?

Handsome sailors aside, I always found Fleet Week kind of creepy. Having fighter jets fly over your city is very bad news in any other context.
