It says I write like Dan Brown. Disconsolate.

On Should You Boycott BP? The Media Says "No"!

So you can't express your frustration at BP by boycotting their stations. And we shouldn't fine them too much because it will cause BP employees to loose jobs. And don't say anything bad about them because that will cause stock prices to drop and small investors will suffer. And on and on and on.

So what can we do? Nothing, we are told. Just shut up, buy the gas and if you absolutely must, you may send BP a strongly worded email. That is all! Continue.

On Web Magazine Considers: Is Incest Bad?

Oh, those Turks. If this story was told to you late one night by a young stranger on Istiklal Street, I hope you did not accept his offer to buy you a drink.

On Ask 'Them': Hello, I Voted For George Bush. Twice! Let's Talk!

My question would be rather general:

Seeing as how conservatives have opposed every major social advance in our nation's history (emancipation of slaves, civil rights, rights movement, women's suffrage, allowing Catholics to own land and vote, allowing African Americans to marry, interracial marriage, integration of the military, school integration, allowing Asians to become citizens, desegregation in general, and so forth) and in each case have stated that the proposed reform was (a) against the Law of God and/or (b) would cause society to implode, why should we now listen to any conservative who argues against any given social reform because (a) it's against the Law of God and/or (b) it will cause society to implode?

On Bizarre Anti-Gay Editorial Explanations Department

The difference? Simple. "Consistent" is three syllables and suitable for publication in Bakersfield. "Hypocritical" is five syllables and therefore suspect as an elitist, effete word in Bakersfield, so better not to even think about it.

On Bizarre Anti-Gay Editorial Explanations Department

While some bloggers and anonymous online commenters have ferociously attacked him for hypocrisy, he's been nothing if not consistent. He's taken a conservative stance for years, pre-dating his recent life as a single man.

Hahahaha. That's hilarious. No wonder this clown "journalist" is stuck in Bakersfield. Someone needs to sit down with him and explain the issue v e r y s l o w l y and with small words.
