On A Drynuary Diary: Week Two
@kamakiri @wokka: Glad to know it wasn't just me. I actually spent a few hours this weekend at bars, and apart from the curious reaction I received from friends (I am normally the biggest drinker in most any crowd), the no drinking was no big thing. It was nice to not suffer a single hangover the entire long weekend, and my skin looks particularly glowy these days.

On A Drynuary Diary: Week Two
I'm doing this no drinking in January thing as well, although I started a bit late. It's been about a week since I've imbibed, and I'm experiencing crazy weird mood swings. I was almost euphoric for several days, and today I am so grouchy I can barely stand the thoughts inside my head. Anyone else experiencing this? It's a total bummer and it's making me want a drink, but I know that it will just make things worse.

@MattP : He often called Ryan "little bitch," or "li'l bitch" (I forget which). That is, before he turned into a vampire or whatever he was in Twilight.

On Why Yoga Can Be So Irritating (Although You Should Go Anyway!)
Maybe this is just my problem, but I've always found many yoga poses to be extremely uncomfortable. Not painful really, but just not pleasant to perform. I can't bliss out and find my sacred space if my knee is hurting from being ground into the floor from most of my weight being on it. And while yoga instructors always claim that poses can be modified to account for injuries or various body issues, I always find that it leaves me hurting more than I was before. Yet when I explain this to a yoga teacher, I get a blank stare. I just wish yoga instructors could realize that yoga isn't for everyone.

On Chicken Mushroom Casserole For The Lazy Snob
This was a delight to find. First, I completely empathize with both your weekend hermit routine and the self imposed rules that accompany it. Second, last week I was home sick with a cold but managed to drag myself to the store for casserole ingredients. I had an inexplicable craving for tuna noodle casserole, which hasn't happened in about 15 years. I cooked it in my Le Cruset, which I own even though I am a not-rich MOther Jones reading non-profit drone, and it turned out great. Looking forward to trying your recipe out.
