@John Herrman Did you know men never read Jane Austen? Science fact.
I do not know a more awful object than Herreman of a Sunday evening when he has nothing to do.
Yes, his letters were terrible, but I took that to be because he was just a nebbishy sadsack. He is not a Hero. He's just a guy. (Who makes a fuckton of dollars pumping that shit out.) If it could happen to him, it Could Happen To You.
I think you're giving short shrift to her essential aliveness which to me was the main question of the movie. Is she real? She isn't just a machine. She can feel and want and ache and cheat and leave.
She's fucking alive dude.
I managed to get a paragraph further than Ken did. Do I win?
Christ those former Onion staffers mix a mighty fine self-pity with self-righteousness, don't they?
On Hendrix 70
It's my little brother's 30th birthday. His name is John James Marshall Schoenkopf. (Marshall is mom's maiden name.) We all knew they shared a birthday, but not one of us had the faintest idea of Jimi's full name until I read this post.
One of the things she bolded WAS a block quote, preceded by "The paper reports:" with a colon and everything.
The best part of the stupid thing that stupid lady wrote, is that Romenesko's sentence would start, "The paper said," and then go on to say the things the paper said. She bolded them all as "not properly attributed."
@freetzy: Sure, way back in '96, and then in the 2000 mishegoss.
Not to hijack your comment thread, Natasha, but if anyone's up for it, I have a story today on protesting the Occupy LA protesters protesting the president. http://fourstory.org/features/story/protesting-the-protesters-protesting-the-president
