I'm the Intersex person who wrote that post in Politico. I am an Intersex person who is barred from going to Active duty, reserve or even the National Guard. Though the only exception the US military will ever allow is the Coast Guard Auxiliary or the US Air force Civil Air Patrol, Which I am in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary as an Intersex person.
The only countries that allow intersex people in the service openly is Canada, UK, Spain, Israel, Czech republic and Thailand. The US is the only country that bans Intersex along with the gays from the military because the US Military believes that Intersex people will be a medical issue for them and they think that Intersex people will burden them and their military health care system. I know for one, Israel and the Israeli Defense Forces, allows intersex people to serve in all area's of the military and they don't have any problems with intersex people in the service.
My hope is that the US ends DADT within a year and allows intersex people such as myself to serve on Active duty.

Yea, but I my hope is that this policy can be changed very soon so I can get a chance to jump in and serve as well. I am living proof that if you let Intersex people serve already as auxiliarist in the military, then why then let them in because they already see that in me already. I think they are stalling because some are afraid to CHANGE as Obama puts it.
