Dear Democrats,
This is obviously a really shitty plan. Obviously. But Obama is our President for the next threeish years. Things are desperate. He's clearly calling a hail marry.
Instead of bitching about how we're a rushing team and its only second and twelve, how bout we just grunt and try to execute. Let's practice what that'd look like:
- Praise Obama's bipartisanship and courage for tackling a deficit problem millions of Americans are worried about
- Pivot IMMEDIATELY to point out that health care, cap and trade, other awesome progressive things would ALSO reduce the deficit
- Ask pleadingly why Republicans aren't doing more and therefore hate and therefore feast upon the brains of kittens, children, etc...
Or you know we could just get all weepy and listen to "Yes We Can" on repeat while drinking ourselves to death in the darkness.
