On Don't Be Sad, Millennials: Today Is Actually Pretty Great! (P.S. You're All Going To Die)

Thank you for this analysis! This commercial has been driving me nuts.

Landing on Mars and engineering fast cars look backwards. Not only did the Mars Rover land over a decade ago, the Mars Rover can't help but to recall the moon landing. The ability to explore space is an example of a previous generation's scientific achievement. Same goes for "engineering fast cars": that's been happening for a long time now.

So two of the examples of what makes "today" pretty great only serve to make yesterday seem better, which makes "today" seem even sadder.
