On Showed Up: 'Elektra' at the Metropolitan Opera
I occasionally daydream about what I'm going to taunt young opera queens with, e.g. "I saw Rysanek" (albeit in dotage, and only once.) It never even occurred to me that "I saw pre-surgery Voigt" was one. I feel like I just aged a decade.

On Showed Up: 'Elektra' at the Metropolitan Opera
It's not so much Forrest Gump--though it's over-exposed, it's not bad music. It isn't opera, though.
