Kirin, thanks for sharing. I feel the same exact way, and you are the first person I've read whose experience of sex matches my own. I'm a man in my early 30s, I am not asexual, I've been in relationships and feel sexual desire and like my body and other people's bodies-- but I like a lot of other things better than sex. This fact makes people freak out, even though it doesn't make me freak out at all (except when people accuse me of being repressed, out of touch with my sexuality, in denial, scared of intimacy, scared of pleasure, scared of life!...)
There is a great article by Mark Greif called Afternoon of the Sex Children that talks about how our culture got focused on sex the way it is, and it's worth reading.
